About the Case 730

The J.I. Case 730 was produced from 1960 to 1969 at the Racine, Wisconsin plant as part of Case's 30-series. Powered by a 4-cylinder, 4.4-liter (267 cubic-inch) engine in gasoline, LP-gas, or diesel form producing approximately 57-60 horsepower, the 730 offered a choice of torque-converter or unsynchronized 8-speed transmission. It was a workhorse of the 1960s for medium-sized farms and stayed in production longer than most competing models of its era. The 730 remains a frequent restoration target because of its mechanical simplicity, durable construction, and the Case parts network that still supports it.
