About the International Harvester Farmall H

The Farmall H was produced by International Harvester from 1939 to 1953 at the Rock Island, Illinois plant. Powered by the IH C152 4-cylinder engine producing approximately 24-27 horsepower (gasoline or distillate variants), the H sold in greater numbers than any other American farm tractor of its era — over 390,000 units built. It became the symbol of mid-century American farming and remains the most commonly-restored vintage tractor in North America today. Parts availability is excellent, mechanical simplicity is legendary, and original factory manuals are essential because so many H's have been modified, rebuilt, or partially restored over the decades.
